{"id":6427,"date":"2022-09-07T16:43:37","date_gmt":"2022-09-07T16:43:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.itcjournal.org\/?post_type=dt_portfolio&#038;p=6427"},"modified":"2022-09-07T16:43:39","modified_gmt":"2022-09-07T16:43:39","slug":"breakthrough-foreword","status":"publish","type":"dt_portfolio","link":"https:\/\/www.itcjournal.org\/?dt_portfolio=breakthrough-foreword","title":{"rendered":"Breakthrough: (Foreword)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In 2021, the 50th anniversary of the first publication of&nbsp;<em>Breakthrough,<\/em>&nbsp;\u201cWhat happens after physical death?\u201d is still the big question concerning the nature of existence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his groundbreaking work psychologist, Konstantin Raudive experimented using a communication method known as Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP), whereby deceased communicators appear to send messages and images via computers, radios, televisions and other electronic devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1959 Swedish artist and filmmaker Friedrich Jurgenson was making a tape recording and during playback he discovered what sounded like a human voice on the tape. He put it down to faulty equipment but when he searched other tapes, he found more voices, which seemed to be messages from his dead mother. Jurgenson recounted the experience in a book titled&nbsp;<em>Voices from Space<\/em>. The book impressed Raudive and subsequently he and Jurgenson collaborated for a time and encountered more voices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a difference of opinion, Raudive undertook his own research amassing a collection of thousands of voice recordings and in 1968 his work was published in German under the title,<em>&nbsp;Unh\u00f6rbares Wird H\u00f6rbar<\/em>&nbsp;(The Inaudible Becomes Audible).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1969 after being approached at the Frankfurt Book Fair, British publisher Colin Smythe asked his colleague Peter Bander to assess Raudive\u2019s book with a view to publishing it in English, and, unbeknown to Bander, did his own experiments with positive results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since that time Jurgenson and Raudive\u2019s experiments have been replicated thousands of times by researchers and enthusiasts all over the world and&nbsp;<em>Breakthrough<\/em>&nbsp;remains a classic in the genre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The communicators overriding message?<br><strong>\u201cWE ARE NOT DEAD!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>About the author<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Born in Latvia,&nbsp;<strong>Konstantin Raudive Ph.D.&nbsp;<\/strong>(1909-1974) was a noted European psychologist and philosopher who lived in Sweden and Germany after the end of World War II.
